What is Cascadia Preparedness?
Cascadia is a vast landscape of mountain ranges, meandering rivers, temperate rain forests, dense cities, sprawling suburbs, sagebrush desert, irrigated farmland, and an ecologically rich inland sea. Cascadia is a unique coastal bioregion that defines the Pacific Northwest of the United States and Canada. Cascadia stretches from Alaska, includes portions of the Yukon, and consists of the Canadian province of British Columbia and the US States of Washington and Oregon. When all parts of the bioregion are included, Cascadia would also include parts of Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming.
Cascadia Preparedness is focused on real-world, realistic preparedness and survival. Our primary emphasis is Cascadia, but preparedness information of a general nature from other regions will also be provided. We share information that is intended to help others to be better prepared, become more self-reliant, and be better able to care for themselves in the aftermath of a disaster.
